How to create custom fields in product and customers?



I would like to know, how we can add custom fields in products and customer flow.
I know we can create new flow and add fields in it, but would like to know, how we can add to products and customers?

Do we need to add it through API only?

The API Reference shows the list of resources you can create or extend with flows, whereas the Developer Portal provides hands-on walkthrough on selected scenarios like extending a product, creating a wishlist or a blog.
